We are giving you three great warm-up exercises to get you padel fit and to improve your play when you’re on our indoor padel court in Dubai Investment Park 2, Aria Sportscape Academy.

Split Step Training

The split step is in short, a small bounce on your toes that you do between every shot you play. This makes you ready for action when the ball comes your way. It makes you ready for every point. There has been research done proving that you will be a lot faster getting to the ball if you do this little bounce. Apart from this, it is a great workout to practice your standing position, you will get used to this feeling. And once you have practiced this enough, you will get used to this feeling and then you can try to implement this into the game when you’re at our vibrant, energetic indoor padel court.

Shoulder Exercises

Do you want more power? Well, this may be the exercise for you. It’s time to get some shoulder exercises going. These workouts can also be done in the comfort of your home and they will make your shoulders stronger. Depending on your strength and fitness levels, you can alter the number of reps and sets you do. But to start off, get started on some push-ups, incline push-ups and planks are 3 great exercises to get started. And as you feel your shoulder strength increasing, increase the number of reps. It’s as easy as that. Remember, like most things in life: consistency is key. Do these exercises regularly and after a month you are sure to see progress.

Sidesteps

Looking for a great warm-up? Well, this may be the one for you. As most of us know by now, it’s important to warm up before you do any form of exercise. Why do we warm up before we exercise? In short, it increases your heart rate and blood flow which in turn gets more oxygen to reach your muscles! Back to the sidestep, in a squat position, you step from side to side, as simple as that. If you’re not comfortable with this, a light jog is also a great warm-up exercise. The sidestep is great for improving your speed and agility when you’re on the courts. When on the courts at Aria Sportscape Academy, implement the sidestep when you can as this allows you to keep your eyes on the ball when you’re moving backward!
